No. SCADvance XP is fully passive. It analyses a mirrored copy of network traffic through dedicated probes, so there are no agents on controllers, no active scanning, and no interference with live operations. Sites typically see value within the first weeks of observation.

Is it deployed as hardware or software?
Both. A ruggedised hardware probe suits demanding plant-floor conditions, while a virtual probe runs in a VM, container, or industrial PC for distributed or smaller sites. Many deployments mix both across locations and roll out site by site.
